There’s every chance that this fixture could prove to be decisive when it comes to deciding who lifts the Premier League in May.

As they are currently eight points ahead of 2nd place Arsenal, Chelsea know that a win away at Liverpool pretty much guarantees them the title – although they would not say that themselves!  Antonio Conte’s men have recovered from their defeat against Tottenham Hotspur a couple of weeks ago to win their last four matches on the bounce in all competitions.

Nobody except for Tottenham have figured out how to counter Chelsea’s 3-4-3 system which seems to have the perfect balance between attack and defence. The Blues record of just 15 league goals conceded and 13 clean sheets in 22 games is by far the best in the league, whilst they also have great ability going forward , as proved by the fact they have scored 13 goals in their last four matches.

Conte’s side have only played one away match since that loss against Tottenham but ran out convincing 3-0 winners against current Premier League champions Leicester City. However, prior to that trip to Spurs, the Blues did already have a good record on the road having won their previous six matches, five of which saw them keep a clean sheet.

Liverpool know that this is a must-win match if they are to have any chance of winning the Premier League title this season, although that dream seems to be dwindling with every match and they’re now ten points behind their opponents here. From a Liverpool perspective, this is hardly the ideal time to play Chelsea as they are on a terrible run right now having lost their last three matches on the spin – all of which came at home.

Defence has been the problem all season for Jurgen Klopp’s side and their record of 27 conceded in just 22 top flight matches is by far the worst record in the top four whilst they have also only kept nine clean sheets in the league – fewer than newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

Their scintillating front-line had managed to see them outscore opposition in the early part of this season and indeed they are still the Premier League’s top scorers having found the back of the net 51 times; however, the goals have dried up recently and they have only scored more than a single goal on one occasion in their last seven games in all competitions.

Anfield had been a fortress for the entire of 2016 as they lost just one home match in all competitions in the calendar year. However, 2017 has seen the foundations at Anfield wobble with no wins in four home matches so far and, as previously mentioned, losing their last three, including a shock defeat to Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup.

Given the Reds’ dire recent form, Chelsea really should be able to take advantage here and I just cannot see them losing. The Blues have shown a lot of nous this season under Antonio Conte and I fully expect them to do a job on Liverpool. With this in mind, ‘Chelsea Draw No Bet’, at 11/10, is an absolute must. The insurance of a returned stake in the event of a draw makes this a bet that is hard to resist. After all, given the way things are going for both, a Chelsea defeat really doesn’t look likely here.
