The season may well be over for Las Palmas – they’re in no danger of going down, nor can they reach the European places – but Leganés still have everything to play for as they continue to fight for their La Liga lives.

The visitors’ season has definitely been one of two sides. From an attacking point of view, the Gran Canaria club are an astute outfit and have scored more goals than any other team outside of the top four. However, at the other end, it’s been a tale of woe with them conceding a rather alarming 58, more than every team in the division except for the current bottom three.

Unsurprisingly, Las Palmas find themselves involved in plenty of high-scoring encounters and this game is expected to follow suit, especially since Leganés are likely to see this as a good opportunity to gain valuable points. With this in mind, the bet that catches the eye is ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’.

On the road, the Las Palmas philosophy is one that pays little attention to the defensive side of the game. The visitors are yet to keep a clean sheet away from home and have conceded no less than 42 goals in 16 away matches. Such stats will no doubt have the Leganés forward players licking their lips ahead of this one. Given their attacking nature and seemingly useless rearguard, it’s no surprise that ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in 75% of Las Palmas’ away matches this season, while both teams have scored in 75% too.

As far as the stats go, Leganés don’t measure up anywhere near as favourably as their visitors, but that’s not to say that the goals have eluded them in recent weeks. Both teams have scored in four of their last five, while ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in three of those. Given the way in which the visitors have often capitulated defensively, Asier Garitano’s men should feel very confident about their chance of scoring goals in this fixture, although keeping things tight at the other end could prove to be a bit more difficult. Las Palmas, for all their defensive problems, have found the net in each in each of their last six on their travels.

All in all, the main catalyst simply is the fact that Las Palmas seem to have a knack of making these sort of games open, end-to-end affairs. As a result, goals at both ends are fancied and it would be no surprise whatsoever if this is the seventh straight away match where the visitors see at least three goals go in.
