Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur : Prediction and Betting Tips
The goal for Leeds is a top-half finish
Boss Marcelo Bielsa will hope his team can finish in the best possible way after their first season in the Premier League since 2004. That 16 years absence was their longest period outside the top-flight in the history of the club. After gaining promotion last season, Leeds are guaranteed another season in the Premier League which was their main aim and now will look for a top ten finish with four matches to go in the season.
The Peacocks suffered their first defeat in seven matches to Brighton at the weekend. That loss broke their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League since 2001. That defeat also means that 11 of their 15 defeats in the Premier League saw them lose by two or more goals. Bielsa’s team have won more games on the road than at home this season, but their recent home form has seen them lose just once in their last seven matches at Elland Road.
A top-four finish still a possibility for Spurs
Interim boss Ryan Mason has had a steady start at Tottenham with two wins against Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday before suffering his first defeat after losing tightly in the EFL cup final at the hands of Manchester City. However, this decent start will be tested in Elland Road given that Spurs have won just two matches on the road from their previous eight games. Having said that they are unbeaten in their last three away matches.
With four matches still to play in the season, Tottenham are just three points away from a Champions League spot. They have a four-team battle to snatch that spot at end of the season and they can’t drop any points. Tottenham won their last three matches scoring eight goals and conceding three.
- Leeds have scored in four of their last six matches
- Tottenham have scored in their last 13 games
- BTTS has happened in Leeds’ 47% of home games
- BTTS has happened in Tottenham’s 59% of away games
Leeds United vs Tottenham Hotspur Prediction
As we covered in the preview, Tottenham will take this game very seriously and will play to win to have a chance to finish top-four. Spurs still have to visit Leicester in their last game of the season before they host Wolves and Aston Villa. Ryan Mason would prefer to get the whole points in the next three games and enter the Leicester game without pressure.
A draw here may be counted as a good result here for Marcelo Bielsa as their campaign in the Premier League has been successful by their standards. And the reason for that is that Leeds haven’t won against any of the clubs currently in the top ten.
For our primary prediction, we will back both teams to score.
We think Tottenham have more incentive to win but it won’t be easy against a tactician like Bielsa. We predict a double chance for this game away win or draw for our secondary prediction
