Ever since slumping to defeat against a wily Juventus side in the Champions League, Barcelona have turned things around and have now won four on the bounce. A dramatic late winner away at arch-rivals Real Madrid has seemingly given the Catalan side renewed belief and they’ve been battering teams ever since that victory.

With Barcelona looking rejuvenated in recent weeks, especially from an attacking point of view, you really do have to fear for a Las Palmas side who’ve been terrible at the back this season. The bet that stands out is ‘Barcelona to Win -2 Handicap’. The 3/4 available at paddypower, compared to the 4/7 on offer with most other firms, as short as it may seem, really does appear to be a bit of a steal. With nothing left to play for, it’s hard to imagine Las Palmas putting up much of a fight here against a rampant Barcelona side who’ll still believe that the title is not out of their reach.

Much has been made about Barcelona under-performing at times during this campaign and in all fairness they have done exactly that. However, since winning at the Bernabeu three weeks ago, Luis Enrique men cannot be accused of failing to turn on the style as they’ve brushed aside all challengers.. Including that match against the current league leaders, Barca have scored a remarkable 17 goals in their last four games, scoring at least three on all four occasions. Such form bodes particularly well considering the defensive plight that Las Palmas have found themselves in lately.

What’s more, despite not quite being at their best during the current campaign, Barcelona have still managed to score 48 goals in 18 away matches this season. And, although they’ve struggled at times, away matches against Malaga and Depor spring to mind, this is exactly the sort of match where they ought to be thriving. Sieve-like defences, such as the one Las Palmas have, are often torn to shreds by the likes of Messi, Neymar and Suarez and the imperious front three will no doubt be licking their lips ahead of this match.

Even before their safety was assured, Las Palmas rarely defended well. Quique Setién’s men have kept just five clean sheets in La Liga this season – only the current bottom two have kept less – and have conceded a rather embarrassing 67 goals. Although a large number of these came on the road, they’ve shown little in the way of defensive resistance on their own patch of late having kept just one clean sheet their last nine at Estadio Gran Canaria. In fact, since the possibility of relegation became unlikely about a month or so ago, Las Palmas have very much taken their foot off the gas and have tended to throw in the towel. They’ve won none of their last five and have scored just twice during that time. On top of this, they’ve conceded 15 in their last five and have lost by at least three goals in three of those. Recent 3-0 and 5-0 losses against Leganés and Atlético respectively are perfect illustrations of just flippantly Las Palmas are taking their end of season matches.

All in all, Las Palmas’ woeful defence is fancied to capitulate once again, and so the visitors, who’ve won by at least two goals in each of their last three fixtures, are expected to dish out another hefty beating here.
