Jesus Cuellar – Jonathan Oquendo. Alexander Belenky’s prediction
Alexander Belenky, one of the most famous Russian boxing pundits is giving his view on the upcoming featherweight WBA title fight between Jesus Cuellar (27-1-0, 21 KO) and Jonathan Oquendo (26-4-0, 16 KO). He is predicting the win of the champion.
I know Jesus Quellar very well. He knocked out Vic Darchinyan in his last fight. In unofficial world ratings he stands 6-th in featherweight but now he wants to improve his position and he can do it. Oquendo is 17-th and we all can see what balance of power it is. Oquendo has no such talant and punch power. I can’t see him winning. Cuellar will have no problems in defending his title. He lost only one fight in 2011 but we can say it was accidental. Oquendo defeated Jhonny Gonzalez and lost to Abner Mares in near past. These both boxers have passed their peak. So I can’t see any Oquendo’s chances against powerful Cuellar who is on his emotional peak. I suggest to bet on Cuellar’s win maybe on long distance. Oquendo was knocked out by Israel Vasquez or Juan Manuel Lopez at his best years. So Oquendo will not stand under a good punch. But Cuellar can.
