Italy chasing a second continental final in three months
The Italian football national team is one of the most successful in the world. Notably, the Azzurri won four World Cups and played in the final in another two. In addition, Roberto Mancini’s team won the Euro 2020 this summer for the second time after 1968. Also, Italy holds the record for most consecutive matches without defeat (37) dating back to 2018.
Undoubtedly Italy are enjoying their best era under Mancini since 2006 when they won World Cup 2006. In their last three games, they had two draws and looked out of form, however. But a 5-0 win against Lithuania in their last match, brought back some of the sparks they enjoyed during the Euro 2020.
Italy Key Points
- Italy scored in nine of their last ten matches
- The Azzurri conceded 0.5 goals per game in their last ten matches
- Four of the last five games of Italy saw Under 2.5 goals

Spain looking for a better fate in this semi-final
Another one of the top national teams in the world Spain will have a chance to avenge their Euro defeat. Needless to say, losing on penalties to Italy at the semi-final in Wembley was a big disappointment for Luis Enrique. However, his team haven’t been the dominant force they were between 2008 and 2012. In fact, La Roja won the World Cup 2010 and the Euro 2008 and 2012.
The former ranked number one in the world are building a new team around many youngsters. For example, players like Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal, and Eric Garcia have all made double-digit appearances already despite being under 24 years. Nonetheless, a surprise defeat in Sweden followed two wins against Georgia and Kosovo in the WCQ games.
Spain Key Points
- Spain scored in all of their last five matches
- La Roja’s last five matches saw two or more goals scored
- 0.8 goals is the average number of goals conceded by Spain in their last ten matches
Italy vs Spain Prediction
After Portugal won the first edition, the second edition’s champion will be decided this week in Milano. Interestingly, the first semi-final is between Italy and Spain as there are very high odds offered by the bookies for this match.
If we look at the last match played in the Euro between these two, we see that Spain dominated. Yet, the Italians defended viciously as they always do and dragged the game to penalties. Hence we think we will see a similar match with a low score and Spain having more possession.
Finally, as we have a look at Vbet’s markets, many of them are high and look indecisive. That is because of the unpredictable nature of this match although Italy are slightly favorites with 1.72 to qualify. In any case, we will back the double chance and total goals scored in this match at the combos section at Vbet.
