The Nerazzurri could afford a slip up in midweek against Spezia when they had come back from behind to draw 1-1. Antonio Conte’s men couldn’t score more than one goal from 15 attempts on target. This was Inter’s second draw in a row after an 11 match winning streak that saw the Nerazzurri build a comfortable ten-point lead at the top of the Serie A table.

Verona have to improve their defense against Inte

Three defeats in a row and just one win from their last seven matches has seen Verona cement themselves in the Serie A mid-table. This is Veron’s worst run of seven matches since the 2017/18 season and it means a top half finish is unlikely as they are eight points away from the eighth position.

Verona’s defense have struggled when conceding the opener in the first half in four of their last six games and against a high-scoring team like Inter, that struggle might continue. Coach Ivan Juric’s team have some defensive problem’s to sort out as they conceded six goals in three matches and have just one clean sheet in seven matches.

On a more positive note for Juric and Verona, the Gialloblu have opened the scoring in four of their last five away matches and have trailed at half time in just three of their 16 Serie A trips this season.
