Ingolstadt and Köln are two teams who’re out of form at this moment in time so both will be looking to alter their fortunes when they go head-to-head at Audi Sportpark on Saturday afternoon.

Despite struggling for results, in knowing that the other is in a similar predicament, both are likely to feel upbeat about their chances here.

From a betting point of view, the bet that catches the eye is ‘Both Teams to Score’. Neither may have been in blistering form in front of goal lately, but both are conceding goals at a rather alarming rate and, therefore, it won’t take much for either one to wound the other in this one.

It’s fair to say that goals haven’t exactly been Ingolstadt’s speciality this season, especially at home where they’ve scored just ten times in 11 matches. However, the hosts did manage to find the net twice against a decent Hoffenheim side last weekend. Back on their on their own patch, with a couple of goals under their belt, Maik Walpurgis’ side should be confident of finding the net here, particularly since the level of defending showcased by the visitors of late has been very poor.

The season was going swimmingly for the visitors not so long ago, but in recent weeks things have taken a turn for the worse and Peter Stöger’s side are now without a victory in five matches. Fortunately, they face an ingolstadt side who’ve been in equally poor form, especially from a defensive point of view. Given their apparent frailties at the back, it wouldn’t be wise to back Köln to come out on top, but they’re definitely fancied to find the net. Not only have Stöger’s men scored in each of their last two on the road, but Ingolstadt continue to concede goals at home and have kept just one clean sheet in front of their fans all season.

The fact that both teams have scored in 67% of Köln’s matches on the road is a plus, as is the fact that this pair have kept just three clean sheets between them in their combined 23 home and away fixtures.

Keeping teams out is not something that these two teams have become accustomed to this season and, given the way they’ve performed of late, it would be a surprise if either managed to do so here. On this basis, ‘Both Teams to Score’ is well worth being on at 11/10.
