Two of the Bundesliga teams who’ve greatly impressed so far this season go head-to-head on Friday night as 4th place Hoffenheim pay a visit to 5th place Hertha Berlin at the Olympiastadion.

In their respective home and away fixtures, this pair have fared extremely well so far and thus a case could be made for both. From an attacking point of view, it would be a surprise if either failed to create sufficient scoring opportunities, although a wide, open goal-fest doesn’t appear all that likely. ‘Both Teams to Score’ and ‘Draw & Both Teams to Score’ are the two bets that stand out.

In terms of points accumulated, there’s currently no one better in Germany’s top tier than Hertha. With 31 points to their name, Pál Dárdai’s men find themselves sat at the top of the home league table. However, Hoffenheim haven’t exactly been the easiest team to beat on the road this season – only three teams have accumulated more points on their travels – and, therefore, the home side aren’t likely to have this all their own way.

Considering Hertha have only failed to score once at home this season, it would be a bit disappointing if they weren’t able to get themselves on the score-sheet in this one. After all, with an attacking focal point such as captain Vedad Ibišević, they’re always going to carry a significant threat. On the other hand, Hoffenheim have only failed to find the net in one of their 12 away matches this season so it would be foolish to rule them out.

Calling the winner here really does look to be a tough task, so much so that the draw sticks out like a sore thumb. Hertha may have only drawn one of their 13 home games this season, but their winning margin against the top teams has always been a narrow one, and Hoffenheim – a team who’re draw specialists on the road – could be the side to break such a trend. Julian Nagelsmann’s men have drawn 58% (7/12) of their away matches so far this season – more than any other Bundesliga team. Interestingly, six of those stalemates saw both teams score.

It’s fancied that these two could quite easily have the quality required to breach the opposing defence, but there is very little between them, on paper at least, so supporting the score-draw is worthwhile at an eye-catching price.
