As is the case in any Scottish Premiership match involving Celtic, this fixture against Hearts looks rather one sided.

Hearts are on a horrendous run at the moment with four losses in their last five matches in all competitions and just one win in their last seven. Fortunately for them though, they built up enough of a cushion earlier in the season which means they are still in 5th and a huge nine points ahead of the bottom half for when the table splits in a few weeks time.

Throughout most of the season, The Jambos have focused on the offensive side of their game, as demonstrated by the fact they are the league’s third-highest goalscorers with fifty goals. Unfortunately for them though, they seem to have lost their shooting boots in the last few matches as they have failed to find the back of the net in three of their last four. This lack of goals means they are unable to compensate for a rather ropey defence.

Despite this bad run of form, one thing that Ian Cathro’s side can rely on at the moment is their fairly good home form. Hearts won their last match at Tynecastle by a 4-0 scoreline whilst they have also lost just one of their last six games on home soil. Having said that, going up against Celtic is a different proposition.

Celtic could have secured the Scottish Premier league title before they even play this match against Hearts if Aberdeen lose to Dundee on Saturday. The Hoops have only dropped four points in the league all season, suffering no defeats in what has been an incredible campaign.

Unsurprisingly, Brendan Rodgers’s men top the table in all the statistical departments with an incredible 76 goals scored and just 18 conceded in 29 games. However, defensively they have gone a bit off the boil recently and have not kept a clean sheet in any of their last three matches in all competitions.

The Bhoys’ away form has been sublime and they are currently on an 11-match winning streak away from Celtic Park in the league. Again though, it has been proved that Celtic’s defence can be cracked on its travels as they have kept just one clean sheet in their last four away games in the league.

You have to back Celtic here and they will no doubt claim the title this weekend, either after this game or before it. The bet to go for here is ‘Celtic to Win & Over 2.5 Goals’ at 11/10. I actually think both teams could score here given Hearts impressive goal-scoring record over the season and Celtic’s lack of recent away clean sheets, however, this bet gives you more flexibility if Celtic run riot with, say, a 3-0 win, which, let’s face it, isn’t all that unlikely.
