League Two matches are not usually eye-catching spectacles to the wider public but for punters there can be some good value if you’re willing to dig deep enough.

One of these good value bets comes in the form of Grimsby Town’s Omar Bogle. The former Birmingham City academy player is currently the top goalscorer in League Two with seven goals to his name.

The 23-year-old’s stats are stunning with just 69 minutes on average separating each of his goals – the lowest of all the top goalscorers in the Football League pyramid. Although his shots to shots on target ratio is not particularly good in comparison with the other top scorers, this is due to the amount of shots he has (21), with means that he is frequently getting into good positions and getting shots away.

Bogle has been a prolific goalscorer throughout his career and has an almost one in two record for all of his clubs. Although he may not have started the season that well, he has hit a purple patch in the last few games and has scored in three consecutive matches – including a hat-trick and a brace.

He should get a fair amount of chances on Saturday against a Crewe Alexandra side who are not the best defensively having conceded eight goals so far this season. Additionally, they’ve only kept two clean sheets this campaign.

Omar Bogle to find the net once more looks a great bet here and, right now, he’s the striker I back the most in English football  – alongside Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa – not bad company.
