German Masters qualifying: day 2. Vladimir Sinitsin’s prediction
Six of 24 matches were won by underdogs yesterday and this is a bit unexpected considering the different level of rivals. I think we should make an accumulator like it was yesterday (one of my bets was successful with Doherty’s come-back from 2:4). We also have two games with the equal odds. We should take them into account.
I think the Chinese will win in the match of Yu De Lu and Liam Highfield. The British have won two of their last games but it was in 2012 and 2014. This year Highfield was good only at the International Championship with three wins, bit after that he had lost seven of his eight games. De Lu plays not so solid, but he defeated the world champion Stuart Bingham 6:2. Besides that, the Chinese was seeded 17 lines above his rival.
I also suggest an accumulator. Young and motivated Aditya Mehta will defeat Ian Burns who plays inconsistently. And Luca Brecel who plays better and better now, will defeat James Cahill, who is not so talanted as his uncle, Stephen Hendry.
