These two Championship teams have are working towards different aims this campaign with Fulham chasing a play-off spot whilst former Premier League compatriots, and champions for that matter, Blackburn Rovers are fighting for survival.

Fulham had a fantastic result at table toppers Newcastle United at the weekend to extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to seven and they now sit just two points off the play-off places with a game in hand.

As mentioned on previous Fulham tips, they are a goalscoring team who love getting forward – as demonstrated by the fact they have found the back of the net 63 times this season (joint second-best in the league) and registered in their last seven matches.

However, this does mean that the Cottagers are a bit open at the back and it is well worth mentioning that, despite their impressive run, they have kept just one clean sheet in those matches.

Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have been impressive at home in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last five league matches at Craven Cottage. In fact, they were on a four-match winning streak on home soil until they drew 1-1 with Leeds United a week ago.

Blackburn have improved dramatically since the departure of former manager Owen Coyle and are currently on a five-match unbeaten run in the Championship since appointing Tony Mowbray in his place. They are still in the relegation zone but only on goal difference.

Although Rovers are quite low in the scoring charts this season, things are starting to improve and they have so far scored in every match under Mowbray’s guidance, allowing them to be unbeaten. Unfortunately though, they have only won two of those five games due to the fact they have not scored enough to cement the win – they have only scored twice on one occasion in the Mowbray era. This means that if that dodgy defence is breached, Rovers rarely win.

Mowbray has taken two points from his two away games as Blackburn manager and so is still yet to oversee a win on the road. The away form was a huge problem before the former West Bromwich Albion boss arrived (nine points from 15 games) and going to Fulham is not the ideal place to restart that.

With this in mind, I am expecting this in form Fulham side to continue winning. Having said that, Blackburn do carry a threat going forward and could quite easily score against a team who struggle with clean sheets. ‘Fulham to Win & Both Teams to Score’ is definitely the bet to go for at 2/1.
