France – Russia. Gabriele Marcotti’s prediction
Les Bleus are overwhelming favorites. It’s not difficult to see why. They are one of the most talented sides around, they’re at home, they’re coming off a win away to Holland in Amsterdam.
Russia on the other hand haven’t played since November – the win a few days back against Lithuania featured a largely experimental side – and that was a defeat at home to Croatia.
I think the play here is over 2.5 goals. 2.37 seems to be a big price and I guess it comes from the fact that Russia tend to defend well and not get up too much offensively. But this is a bit of a showpiece for the French and they’re in good form, so I’d go on a limb, especially at that price, and jump on the overs here.
