Fleetwood currently sit 2nd in League One, but 3rd place Bolton Wanderers are just a point behind and have a game in hand. Uwe Rosler’s men finally had their incredible 18-match unbeaten run in the league by the aforementioned Bolton a week ago but recovered to win their next match. In fact, the end of their unbeaten run is arguably a good thing for Fleetwood as it takes the monkey off their back.

Defence has certainly been the bedrock to the Trawlermen’s season with an average of just 0.97 goals conceded per game whilst they have also kept more clean sheets than any other side in the division with 16, four of those coming in the last five games. Of course, being in the top two means that Fleetwood have also been good going forward and they have registered in each of their last six and have scored 55 in 37 games overall.

Rosler’s side have been fantastic at home so far this campaign and have the second-best record in the division with 39 points in 19 matches, losing just twice in the league at Highbury Stadium this season.

AFC Wimbledon may sit down in 12th but, with just eight points between themselves and the top six and having been on a great run of just one loss in the last six, they will still feel they have an outside chance of making the play-offs, although an outside chance is all it is.

Neil Ardley’s team have been pretty good in both boxes of late, hence why they have had some very positive results. They have conceded just three in the last five and kept two clean sheets whilst they have found the back of the net six times in the same five games.

The Dons are currently on a three-match unbeaten run on their travels but it is also worth pointing out that they have won just once in the league away from Kingsmeadow since 22nd October 2016.

Given Wimbledon’s rather poor form on the road, you simply have to back Fleetwood here. The fact they recovered from that recent defeat after their brilliant run shows great character and, frankly, I am surprised that the home win is available at an odds-against price.
