Everton vs Tottenham: Prediction and Betting Tips
Everton looking for their sixth home win
It has been a season of ups and downs for Everton. After a rocket start with four wins in a row that took them to the top of the Premier League table, The Toffees couldn’t maintain a stable form throughout the season and some spells where they couldn’t find a win.
Boss Carlo Ancelotti is facing one of those slumps currently as his team are winless in four matches in the Premier League and have seen themselves slip down the standings to eighth position and six points away from a European spot.
The alarming concern for Ancelotti is the fact that they couldn’t beat three teams at the bottom half of the table in their last three matches and their upcoming four matches are against teams who are at the top half of the table. Having the worst home record in the top ten teams of the Premier League and scoring just four goals in six matches has been an issue for Everton.
Tottenham chasing a European spot
Spurs’ last five matches’ record isn’t better than their hosts. Tottenham won one, drew one, and lost three in ll competitions including a heartbreaking loss in the Europa League second leg away to D. Zagreb. In terms of scoring, Spurs have scored two or more goals in six of their last ten matches.
There have been many reports of Tottenham players being unhappy with Jose Mourinho’s tactics and hold him responsible for not being able to hold on to a lead and dropping 18 points after they were ahead in those matches.
One positive note for Mourinho is that his team hasn’t lost in eight visits to Goodison Park. They have to improve from their last match though when they lost to Manchester United at home 3-1. Tottenham went ahead in the first half but couldn’t hold on to their lead.
- 60% of Everton home matches have seen both teams score
- 56% of Tottenham’s away matches have seen both teams score
- Tottenham have scored in their last eight matches in the Premier League
- Everton have scored in six of their last eight matches in the Premier League
Everton vs Tottenham Prediction
Carlo Ancelotti will make his best to raise his team’s morale as the Toffees seem to be in yet another slump which may this time see them out of a European spot for next season.
The same applies to Tottenham as Mourinho is under fire and needs to find some better results in the upcoming matches, although Spurs are still in the final of the EFL Cup.
Looking at their stats and judging by the importance of the game for both sides, we think they will both do their best to win. Thus we will back both teams to score in this one.
