England relying on the young generation
It is the first time since 1966 that England had three clean sheets in the group stages of a major tournament Euro or World Cup. Coincidently that was the last time they beat Germany in a knock-out match. England lost in Wembley to Germany on penalties in the Euro 96 semi-final in the most famous defeat that has haunted the English fans for a long time.
Gareth Southgate’s team has won eight of their nine matches with the last four of them coming in 1-0 scorelines. That was the same score that England beat Germany in Euro 2000 group stage and will hope to find a similar scoreline on Tuesday.
Southgate is relying on the young players who had a very good season in the Premier League. The likes of Foden, Mount, Rice have been playing in the first two games. The England boss changed the first two with Saka and Grealish against the Czech Republic and we can say this generation of English players can lead England to great results in the future.
England Key Points
- England have failed to score in two of their last ten matches
- Under 2.5 goals were scored in England’s last five matches
- The average goals scored by England in the last ten matches is 1.7.
Germany facing a tough fixture in Wembley
The Germans were one goal away from being eliminated from the first round of the Group F matches. After struggling and losing against France, Germany beat Portugal in a match where Die Mannschaft dominated all the match. Only an 84-minute goal by Goretzka saved Joachim Low’s team from e second consecutive group-stage exit after the 2018 World Cup.
It is not a secret to anyone that Germany is not the footballing power as it was years ago when they were world champions. Looking at their latest results we see they have three points from their three World Cup 2022 qualification matches and lost to North Macedonia at home.
This will be Low’s last competition with Die Mannschaft as German football prepares for a new era under a new coach and former Bayern Munich Boss Hansi Flick who will have his first mission to guide the German team to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Germany Key points
- The average goals scored by Germany in the last ten matches is 2.2
- Germany have failed to score in just two of their last ten matches
- Two clean sheets is what Germany was able to manage in the last ten matches
England vs Germany Prediction
One of the oldest and fiercest rivalries in international football is between England and Germany. This match draws the attention of fans all over the world and certainly the betting world. We can find many markets on this match that can be profitable.
Despite the fact that England haven’t conceded in five matches, but on the other hand, Germany have scored in eight of their last ten matches and with the strong attacking line-up that the Germans possess, we think they are capable of scoring.
The same applies to England, the young prospects are very dynamic and can cause problems with their speed and high motivation to excel in the international level. We haven’t seen Harry Kane score yet, but we think Tottenham’s best scorer hasn’t had his last say yet.
