Dillian-Whyte-vs-Jermaine-FranklinBookmaker Ratings: Prediction #1 –

Fight ResultDillian Whyte to win by decision

The clear favorite of the confrontation is Whyte. He predominantly boxing from behind the jab, famous for his solid left hooks and decent body work. Whyte’s most vulnerable place is his defense against uppercuts, he has lost all of his fights because of uppercuts from underneath. He also fell from an uppercut in his fight with Rivas. Franklin is also a pretty good jabber. He’s a slow fighter, not very athletic and has frankly bad coordination (probably, because of his extra weight). Most of his defense relies on dives and dodges. Considering Franklin’s good amateur school and Whyte’s puncture rating, an upside doesn’t seem unrealistic. And the outrageous odds on the underdog’s victory is a good excuse to risk a minimum bet on the American. But Dillian’s odds are higher, of course.

Preliminary review and match prediction for Dillian Whyte vs Jermaine Franklin

Dillian Whyte: The Body Snachter

Born in Jamaica, he moved to Britain at the age of 12. At first he started solidly engaged in kickboxing (British and European champion), then moved to boxing. On amateur level is known by his victory over future Olympic champion Anthony “AJ” Joshua.

Since 2011, performs in the professionals. His career could come to an end before it had even begun – he got caught on doping and was suspended for two years. After the resumption of his career, the fighter was heavily promoted, and in 2015 he was paired in a pro clash with the same Joshua – an early defeat in the 7th round and a shoulder injury. Whyte returned to the ring and had a memorable run, beating Derek “Del Boy War” Chisora (twice), Robert “The Nordic Nightmare” Helenius, Lucas ”The Big Daddy” Browne, Joseph Parker, Oscar “Kaboom” Rivas and Mariusz “The Viking” Wacha.

As “interim” champion he sensationally knocked out aged Alexander Povetkin, but made up for that defeat in the immediate rematch. In 2022, he finally got his first shot at the title, but was beaten by WBC champion Tyson Fury (TKO 6). He has not been in the ring since.

Jermaine Franklin:

At the amateur level, he won the Golden Gloves tournament and was a member of the national team. Pretended to go to the 2016 Olympics, but decided to go pro. Built up a solid record on a questionable level of opposition, after which he signed with Dmitry Salita and made his debut on Showtime with a win over Rydell Booker.

He then controversially got past the Gatekeeper Jerry “Slugger” Forrest and failed to put down the jornin’ Pavel Sour. After a long layoff, he knocked out the age old Rodney Moore.
