CSKA Moscow – Wolfsburg. Konstantin Genich’s prediction

17:00/Nov 25 '15

Konstantin Genich, a football commentator at the Russian Match TV channel and a former professional football player, expects a goal in the first half from the Moscow side in the upcoming Champions League fixture between CSKA Moscow and Wolfsburg.

For the Russians it’s like a play-off match: they are last in the group, but with a good result they can move to the second place. In this case everything will be decided in the last game vs PSV Eindhoven. But now CSKA Moscow play against Wolfsburg and PSV Eindhoven are visiting Old Trafford.

Wolfsburg scored six goals against Werder Bremen. They are strong and lovely and they create a lot of moments in every game. It’s impossible to play an open style against them. CSKA should play carefuly in a balanced way.

Two unlucky games in the Russian Premier league against Krasnodar and Krylya Sovetov will give CSKA Moscow a new engine burn. We can see that CSKA always score in their first halves in home games in the Champions League. They scored three times against PSV Eindhoven (and mind one missed penalty), they have scored one goal against Man United – all in the first half. So I think that Leonid Slutsky and his team will try to start in a very aggressive manner. And after that they will use counter-attacks, speed of Musa and Tosic, wise assists of Dzagoev from the midfield and his support in attack. I don’t know if Dumbia is fit. If he starts that will be a huge boost for CSKA.

I want to bet on the first half. If the numbers show that CSKA Moscow are good in the first halves at home, let’s bet on their goal in the first half. The odds are also nice.
