Friday night football has become a fixture of the Premier League this season and this match is certainly one to whet the appetite. These are two of the biggest clubs in the league and we should have an excellent game on our hands here.

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea had a bit of a slip up last weekend as they drew 2-2 away at Swansea (who I believe could go down this season despite that result) but still find themselves second in the league. With all the focus on the Manchester clubs this season, we could see the South-West Londoners come in and sneak the title under the radar.

Prior to last weekend, Chelsea had been impressive with their 100% record and it is important to remember that they are still undefeated. I am not one to criticise referees but it can be argued that Chelsea would still have their 100% start if it were not for some questionable decisions by Andre Marriner at the Liberty. However, Chelsea I am sure will have more debatable decisions in their favour rather than against them this season.

Liverpool have been somewhat up and down this campaign. They had impressive wins against Arsenal and Leicester but their poor loss away to Burnley showed they can easily be stopped. The question mark is once again over the defence and they are still yet to keep a clean sheet this season.

Playing out from the back looks very good if a team does it well, however, Liverpool do not have the players to do it. We have seen in all of their matches so far this season that as soon as the defenders are put under any pressure they panic and make a mistake – usually ending up in a goal. Diego Costa will have a field day with his close-to-the-bone style and aggressiveness when closing down.

With Chelsea being at home and keen to make amends for their draw last week I would back them here and certainly encourage punters to do the same at 13/10. Liverpool just do not seem consistent or disciplined enough to be able to pick up results against well-drilled sides away from home.

As previously mentioned, Diego Costa will have a field day against this vulnerable Liverpool defence and I would back him to score once again at 11/8. The Spanish international has four goals in his first four games and is back to his old self after a poor 2015/16 campaign.

You can combine the above two tips with William Hill at a nicely priced 3/1.
