This Boxing Day match sees Chelsea, who are looking to stretch their amazing winning run to 12 (which would be a club record), host Bournemouth who’re certainly capable of winning games but cannot find the same consistency as their opponents.

Chelsea may not have won their latest match that convincingly against Crystal Palace, but, in actual fact, this is the sign of the perfect team – one that is able to claim victory even when they do not play well. This good pattern not only happened against Palace but also happened in their other two games prior to that against West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland – The Blues won all three matches 1-0.

Antonio Conte’s side are only two wins away from matching Arsenal’s record from 2001/02 and it certainly looks like, with Chelsea, six points clear at Christmas, the title is theirs to lose.

Defence has certainly been the foundation of this incredible run with the 2014/15 Premier League champions conceding just 11 goals in 17 matches and keeping an amazing 10 clean sheets this campaign. If you were being picky you would say that they do not score enough goals, however, this doesn’t seem to be too problematic at the moment.

Chelsea fans will be worried that key players N’Golo Kante and Diego Costa are missing for this match against Bournemouth, but it also seems that Conte has enough options in the squad to find seamless replacements.

Furthermore, the fact that The Blues have conceded just one goal in their last five matches at home will give the fans even more belief that their team can come out on top.

Bournemouth managed to snatch defeat from the hands of victory in their most recent match against south coast rivals Southampton. The Cherries had gone 1-0 up but went on to lose 3-1.

Eddie Howe’s men currently sit in the top ten and have enough about them not to worry about relegation this season. However, as previously mentioned, they are struggling to put a consistent run together with their last six matches reading W,L,W,L,W,L.

Everybody knows how Bournemouth operate with their attacking style, but everybody also knows that they are susceptible at the back. This is particularly so against the big teams as proved by the fact they have conceded 13 goals in five matches against teams in the top six. We could certainly see something similar on Boxing Day.

Additionally, Howe’s men are not great on the road at the moment with just one win all season, keeping just the one clean sheet in eight matches on their travels.

Overall it’s incredibly hard to see anything other than a Chelsea win here and, despite key players Costa and Kante missing, I think it should be fairly comfortable. With this in mind, ‘Chelsea to Win to Nil’, at 7/5. Given the statistics, particularly in regard to Chelsea’s defence and especially at home, such a price should certainly be taken advantage of.
