Having secured a place in the last eight of the Champions League during the week, Monaco get back down to business in Ligue 1 on Sunday as the travel to take on Caen at Stade Michel d’Ornano.

The visitors will undoubtedly be riding high having beaten Man City to set up a mouthwatering tie against Borussia Dortmund, but there is still the small matter of a title race to focus on before their European adventure continues. Sunday’s fixture against Caen looks to be an excellent opportunity for the hosts to maintain their position at the top got the table.

With no less than 84 goals to their name in Ligue 1 this season, Monaco continue to score left, right and centre and it would be something of a surprise if they weren’t able to get among the goals in this one. The bet to go for here is ‘Monaco to Win & Over 1.5 Goals’.

Not only have Leonardo Jardim’s men won eight of their last ten league games, but they’ve also scored at least twice in seven of those and come here having won (and scored at least twice in) each of their last three in the league. The side from the principality are blessed with a real variety of attacking players and, given both the pace and creativity in their ranks, it really is no surprise that they’re enjoying such a fantastic season in front of goal.

Most of Caen’s problems are of a defensive nature and, against the attacking power of Monaco, the hosts look set to struggle. Despite acquitting themselves well last time out against Nice, the hosts still conceded twice, while they saw the ball hit their own net on three occasions in their previous Ligue 1 fixture at home to Angers. Aside from this, Patrice Garande’s men have conceded two or more goals in seven of their 14 matches at home, conceding 24 goals overall – only bottom-of-the-league Lorient have conceded more at home.

Quite frankly these two are operating on very different levels. The visitors have far more quality and are expected to have what it takes to score at least twice in securing a victory that takes them one step closer to lifting the title.
