This Premier League match sees Burnley, who are excellent at home, take on Stoke, who are dreadful on their travels. Both of these sides are a bit out of sync at the moment so need a win here to get back on track.

Burnley looked like they would be safe for another season in the Premier League until recently and they have now had a huge dip with no wins in their last seven league games meaning they are down in 15th and just five points above the drop-zone.

The Clarets have relied on a steady defence throughout the campaign but have now kept just one clean sheet in their last eight in all competitions and even that came against bottom of the table Sunderland. With their attack being on the impotent side, the fact that Burnley are conceding a few of late means it is very difficult for them to pick up points.

One thing that could save Sean Dyche’s side is their home form which, as mentioned earlier, has been fantastic with 29 points from 15 games – more than Manchester City and Manchester United. Although they have lost their last two matches in all competitions at Turf Moor, one was a cup shock which can happen to anybody and the other one was against high-flying Tottenham Hotspur. This match represents a good opportunity to turn it round.

Stoke are still in the top half of the table despite the fact they have had a bit of a wobble recently with two defeats on the spin and no wins in their last three. They are more than safe from relegation this season but could drop out of the top ten come May which would be the first time they have finished outside the top half under Mark Hughes.

Hughes’s men have struggled at the back in the last couple of games with four goals conceded in their last two.  However, the fact they kept two clean sheets in the two matches prior to that proves they can keep it tight. Goals have also been a bit of a problem for the Potters having found the back of the net just three times in their last five, failing to score in three of those matches.

Going to Burnley is not ideal for any side given their home form, however, for the Potters it is perhaps an even worse prospect as they have not won in their last four on the road and have also failed to score in any of those matches. Furthermore, Stoke have picked up just four points on their travels since the start of December 2016.

Although Burnley are having a pretty bad spell, I expect them to come out on top at Turf Moor. The Clarets do not concede many at home so Stoke could really struggle here. The home side will take confidence from their overall home form so far this season and should put a Stoke side, who have been on abysmal on their travels, to the sword.

The home win is priced at 6/4 and is, therefore, well worth getting behind.
