One of the 27th’s Championship matches looks to be a rather one-sided affair between Brighton & Hove Albion and Queen’s Park Rangers.

Along with Newcastle United, Brighton are a team who look like they are pretty much guaranteed promotion at the end of the season with them sitting second and having lost only two league matches out of 22 this season. They managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat at Birmingham City last Saturday – the sign of a team destined for promotion. Chris Hughton’s side were 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go but managed to grab a 2-1 victory thanks to Glenn Murray’s late winner.

The Seagulls have the perfect combination in that they have the ability to score goals and have a very reliable goalscorer in Glenn Murray, whilst they are also able to keep it tight at the back as shown by the fact they have conceded just 14 goals in the league this campaign. Having said that, Hughton will be slightly annoyed that his team have not kept a clean sheet in either of their last two matches.

Brighton have not only been excellent at home this season – their only league defeat at the AMEX Stadium came all the way back in September – but for the entire of 2016 and, apart from that defeat to Brentford a few months ago, The Seagulls last lost a league game on home soil back on New Year’s Day 2016.

Whilst it currently looks like it could not be going much better for Brighton, it is the exact opposite for Queen’s Park Rangers at the moment with Rangers losing their last five matches – a run of form that has led to them slipping down the table to 19th, just three points above the drop-zone. New manager Ian Holloway is arguably already under pressure and needs to get some wins quickly before Q.P.R. go into an irreversible decline.

The R’s are also the opposite of Brighton’s ‘perfect’ team in that they do not score enough goals – Holloway’s men have failed to score in their last three matches – and are pretty woeful at the back with 31 goals conceded this season and no clean sheet yet recorded under Holloway. To further compound their woes going into this match, their away record is terrible with just one point on their travels since 1st October. In fact, they have only won four league matches away from Loftus Road in 2016.

A Brighton looks to be the only outcome here and it has to be said that anything other than a convincing home victory would be surprising. With this in mind, ‘Brighton to Win to Nil’, which can be had at 13/10, is well worth going for.

The second bet here is ‘Brighton to Win & Glenn Murray to Score Anytime’ at 17/10. Murray is in excellent form right now having scored in each of his last three matches whilst his record of 12 goals in 11 home games is phenomenal and I expect that to continue along with a Brighton win here.
