Bologna to close the gap with the top teams
With 21 points from 14 games, Bologna are having their best start for a Serie A season in a decade. Equally, the Rossoblu won three of their last four games after a seven-game spell during which Bologna won just one match. However, nine points from a possible 12 points put the Rossoblu goal difference away from sixth-positioned Lazio which is a Europa Conference League spot.
In their last match, Bologna beat Spezia on the road in a match where Mihailovic’s team were the dominant side. To point out, the Rossoblu had 57% ball possession. Nevertheless, Spezia had the same amount of shots on target with five. However, a disappointing loss in Bologna’s last home game to Venezia will haunt Mihailovic. Hence a very cautious defensive tactic must be applied.
AS Roma to keep the pressure on the fourth spot
Two consecutive wins with clean sheets in Serie A is a first for Roma this season. Coupled with a 4-0 midweek win over Zorya in the Europa Conference League, Jose Mourinho must be very pleased with his team’s performances in the past week. Those six points put Roma in the driving seat to challenge for the top four. As with 25 points, they are three points behind Atalanta who are fourth.
Looking at Roma’s away form, the Giallorossi won three and lost four of their seven road trips. Moreover, Mourinho’s men scored a respectable two goals on average in their last ten away matches. And as they travel to Bologna, Roma will hope to repeat last season’s result when they beat the home side 1-5.
Bologna vs AS Roma Prediction
Roma are the favorites to win this match with the bookies but with high odds of 2.27 at Vbet. Certainly, the reason for that is because Bologna can be a tough opponent. As we look at the stats, Roma won 43% of their away games while Bologna won 57% of their home games.
However, Roma showed this season that they can be inconsistent and unpredictable. Thus, we prefer not to bet on an away win. Instead, if we look at both teams’ last two matches we can see that under 2.5 goals were scored in all four of them.
In effect, we think 1.88 for a double chance of an either-team win with under 3.5 goals combination looks like a good deal. As for our second prediction, we will back a draw in the first half since that was the case in Bologna’s last four outings.
Bologna vs AS Roma Betting Tips
Bologna win or Roma win and under 3.5 goals 1.88 at Vbet
First half draw 2.36 at Vbet
