These two teams are aiming to succeed at opposite ends of the table this season, however, both are faltering at the moment with neither looking like they will achieve their respective targets.

Blackburn managed to earn a point at relegation rivals Burton Albion on Friday night in Tony Mowbray’s first match in charge, but, due to the results of other teams around them, they are still three points off safety and sit 23rd in the table.

Rovers have managed to score a couple of goals in recent matches, even before Mowbray’s arrival, and they have registered on the score-board in their last 12 games in all competitions. However, as you would expect with a team in the relegation zone, they have been weak defensively and have the third-worst record in the Championship with 50 conceded in 32 matches.

Tuesday night will be Mowbray’s first game at Ewood Park as Blackburn manager and so will be looking for that new manager bounce on home soil. Blackburn’s last match at home was against Manchester United and they put in a good performance until United brought on big guns Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba to change the game. Furthermore, they did actually win their last league match at home.

Derby looked like they would quite easily get into the play-offs a few weeks ago but, following a run of no wins in their last five in the league, The Rams have now plummeted down to 11th in the league and are 10 points off the top six.

Steve McLaren’s side are excellent at the back and have the third-best defensive record in the division. However, despite the fact they have the final third on paper, they do not score nearly enough goals with just 36 goals in 33 league matches – the worst record in the top 13.

The Rams lost their latest away match at Aston Villa on the weekend to extend their unwanted record of just one win in their last five league matches on the road. Additionally, Derby have scored just 15 goals in 16 matches on their travels so far this campaign.

Given these two sides are out of form at the moment, we could be in for a tight game – a game where both tread cautiously. With this in mind, a ‘0-0 at Half-Time’, at 13/8, catches the eye.
