Free-scoring Monaco continue to impress in Ligue 1 this season and appear to have been presented with another big opportunity to continue their title assault on Friday night. Bastia are among those teams that are struggling in the French top flight this season and, having lost 5-0 in the reverse of this fixture, could be in for another tough night.

From a betting point of view, the two angles of attack here are ‘Monaco to Score Over 2.5 Goals’ and ‘Monaco to Win & Over 2.5 Goals’ at odds of 21/10 and 13/10 respectively.

Having scored no less than 75 goals in Ligue 1 this season, the side from the principality have been nothing short of menacing going forward, regardless of whether they’re playing at home or away. There is a multitude of attacking talent within their squad and they continue to find varying routes to goal – no less than six of Monaco’s attacking players have scored at least seven league goals this season. Needless to say, whichever forward set-up the visitors go with here, they’re likely to be a nightmare to defend against.

Leonardo Jardim’s men have found the net a total of 29 times on the road (more than any other Ligue 1 team this season), scoring at least three goals on five occasions. In addition, eight of the visitors’ 12 away matches have seen at least three match goals hit the net.

As for the hosts, having achieved a very respectable 10th place finish last season, Bastia have struggled to go with the pace in Ligue 1 this season. The Corsican club currently find themselves sat firmly within the relegation-zone and come into this fixture without a win in any of their last seven (all-competitions). François Ciccolini’s team were soundly beaten by Toulouse (4-1) last time out so confidence probably isn’t high ahead of this one. Against a Monaco team who continue to look rampant, things aren’t likely to get much better.

When this pair met earlier in the season, Monaco came out on top with a 5-0 win in front of their own fans. Given the way these two gave been going recently, a repeat of that result certainly doesn’t look out of the question here.

Quite frankly, the visitors look a cut above their opponents (and most other teams in this division) and can record yet another convincing victory.
