Augsburg vs Bochum Predictions and Betting Tips
Augsburg vs Bochum Key Stats
- Augsburg are unbeaten at home against teams that currently reside in the bottom half.
- Along with a handful of others, Bochum are the lowest scoring away team in the Bundesliga, scoring three in seven.
- Bochum have registered the second-lowest number of shots on target away from home in the Bundesliga this season.
Home comforts for Augsburg
In general, the hosts remain up and down, winning one week, then losing the next, though they do arrive here unbeaten in two. Markus Weinzierl’s men weren’t able to follow their outstanding win over the league leaders with another three points, but they did avoid defeat, earning a respectable 1-1 draw away at Hertha.
Moreover, Fuggerstädter have been in pleasing form on their own patch for a little while now. They’ve won each of their last two at WWK Arena, while they are unbeaten in four in front of a home crowd. They’ve kept only one clean sheet during that time, which is perhaps a slight concern, then again, they’ve not conceded more than once in any of their last four on home soil.
Keep bouncing back
For Bochum, up and down sums up their campaign, but the visitors aren’t in the habit of dwelling on poor results, that’s for sure. Once again, the newly promoted side bounced back last weekend, as they followed up their narrow defeat to Leverkusen with a 2-1 win over Freiburg at Ruhrstadion.
The trouble is that Saturday’s travellers tend to find it tough to come out of their shell on the road. They’ve lost four of their last five away from the comforts of home, losing six out of seven on the road overall this season. One win against a Furth side that looks destined for relegation already is all that Thomas Reis’ men have to show for their away-day efforts this term, and that’s a problem.
Augsburg vs Bochum Predictions
This looks like a good opportunity for Augsburg to make it three games without a win.Bochum aren’t necessarily pushovers, but nearly all of their best form has come at home, while they’ve struggled to get going away from home, even against the lesser teams, beating only a Furth side that is simply not even close to being good enough for this level, and even then, they victory was marginal.
The lack of goals scored by the visitors away from home is another issue, especially when Augsburg have scored three times as many at home. Couple this with Augsburg’s decent home record against bottom half teams, winning two out of three and the home win stands out as the best option.
