Having enjoyed a good campaign last year, Hertha are once again flying high and have impressed in the opening ten games of the season. Augsburg, on the other hand, have failed to really get going and seem to be getting closer and closer to falling into the battle for survival with each passing week. With this in mind, it’s hard to fancy the hosts in this fixture and they’re fancied to struggle against a Hertha side who’ve really looked up for it of late.

Considering both the fact that Hertha have lost just twice this season, combined with the fact that Augsburg haven won just once in their last six in all-competitions, it’s surprising that there isn’t a much greater disparity in the pricing of these two sides. On this note, the 19/10 available on the Hertha win is well worth snapping up. Additionally, ‘Hertha Berlin to Score Over 1.5 Goals’, at odds of 2/1, is another selection that looks overpriced here and is thus worth being on.

The visitors haven’t exactly shown their best form on the road this season, or at least this is what their record shows. However, if we delve a little deeper we can see that the fixture list hasn’t been too kind to Hertha and, in actual fact, their form away from home hasn’t been as shaky as it might first appear. A trip to Munich to face the Champions is never an easy task, so the visitors can be forgiven for failing to get anything there, while they were only narrowly edged out by Hoffenheim in their latest away trip. Considering Hoffenheim are unbeaten and going extremely well themselves, there’s no shame in this defeat either. They’ve also been faced with trips to Dortmund and Frankfurt in the early part of the season – two sides who’re going well near the top of the table – and the draws that they managed to earn against both of these teams might prove to be very good results come the end of the season. In fact, having played five on the road so far, they’ve faced bottom-half opposition just once and ran out comfortable 2-0 winners (away at Ingolstadt).

Augsburg haven’t been in good form at home and are unlikely to provide the sort of test that many of Hertha’s hosts have managed to do. The home side have won just one game on their own patch this season, drawing one and losing the other three. They’ve scored just four goals and have conceded nine. In reality, this is a much easier task for the travelling side and they are fancied to take full advantage.

The fact that Augsburg have conceded two or more goals in three of their five home matches (the only times they’ve faced top-half opposition) bodes well.

Hertha will be boosted by the return of attacking midfielder Valentin Stocker ahead of this match, while Saloman Kalou is likely to be raring to go after his hat-trick before the international break. With 17 goals to their name already, Pál Dárdai’s side have looked strong going forward and have more than enough attacking options to trouble a weak-looking Augsburg back-line.

The visitors are expected to pick up where they left off before the international break by securing a win that sees them score at least twice and, at 19/10 & 2/1, can line punters’ pockets in doing so.
