Augsburg v Bayer Leverkusen Betting Tips: Goals expected at both ends in Bavaria
Having lost when playing away from home last Friday night, Augsburg will be looking to bounce back this time around when they welcome Leverkusen to the Augsburg Arena.
As they stand in table, with just three points separating them, these two have both endured similar campaigns so far – Useful on their day, but a tendency to under-perform is probably an apt description of both. However, there’s plenty of reason to think that each of these teams can enjoy attacking success on Friday night.
The bet that catches the eye ahead of this one is ‘Both Teams to Score’. Although the hosts don’t rank particularly highly in terms of ‘Both Teams to Score’ stats, the visiting side have rarely played away from home without both scoring and conceding and there’s every chance this trend will continue here.
Seven of Leverkusen’s nine matches on the road have seen both teams find the net, while they’ve managed to keep just a single clean sheet away from the BayArena this season. Going forward, Roger Schmidt’s team proved that they’re alive and well when notching three times against Frankfurt last weekend and they’ll definitely fancy their chances of scoring again, especially since Augsburg have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last five league matches.
The hosts may have failed to find the net away from home last weekend, but they weren’t without chances and probably won’t feel too downbeat as they head into this match, at least in an attacking sense anyway. After all, their opponents have kept just one clean sheet away from home this season. In addition, Manuel Baum’s side scored three the last time they played in front of home crowd and should be suited by the counter-attacking style they’ll be able to adopt against a forward-thinking side such as Leverkusen.
The fact that Leverkusen are currently conceding on average both 4.67 shots on target and 1.44 goals per away game also bodes well for the home team ahead of this fixture.
When these two teams meet on Friday night it’s fancied that neither will make defending their primary focus and, therefore, both are expected to register on the score-sheet at least once each.
