Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks: Prediction and Betting Tips
The Hawks were up by 13 points at the end of the second quarter but allowed the Knicks to get back into the game in the second half. Trae Young was the best scorer for the Hawks and the match after a great performance in the first half. The 22-year-old point guard was rested for much of the third quarter by coach McMillan and that may be one of the reasons for the Hawks’ loss in this game.
Young had a game-high 30 points and seven assists most of them in the first half. De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic both had 18 points as the Hawks were scoring from almost every shot in the first two quarters. However, a cold shooting stretch at the end of the game and a resurgent Knicks, made the Hawks lose the chance of going 2-0 up in the series.
New York Knicks
The main reason for the Knicks in game two was Derrick Rose’s performance. He was the best player on the court scoring 26 points with four rebounds and four assists. After trailing in the first quarter, the Knicks had a 30-8 run in the third, as coach Tom Thibodeau’s team turned the game around to secure an important win to tie the series before traveling to Atlanta.
Julius Randle stepped up his game as well in the second half. Despite finishing the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds, he made just 5 of 16 from the field. In the fourth quarter though, Randle started creating things for himself and showed a glimpse of why he was chosen the most improved player this season.
- Atlanta are averaging 99.5 points per game in the playoffs
- New York are averaging 103 points per game in the playoffs
- The Hawks are shooting 42% from the field
- The Knicks are shooting 41.5% from the field
Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks Prediction
The two point guards of both teams were at the heart of each team’s win in the series so far. Trae Young of the Hawks was the best player in game one while Derrick Rose dominated the second game. Hawks coach McMillan must think twice before resting Trae Young for so long as he did in game two.
It will be very hard to predict the winner of this series as both teams finished the season with the same record. Despite the Knicks winning the three H2H meetings this season, we think Atlanta will be tough to beat at home in this game.
We think Atlanta will not make the same mistakes they did in game two and playing in front of a full crowd for the first time this season, we will back a Hawks win.
