AS Roma – BATE Borisov. Gabriele Marcotti’s prediction

19:45/Dec 09 '15

ESPN journalist and the Bookmaker Ratings pundit Gabriele Marcotti is expecting a good result from the guest team in the upcoming Champions League game between AS Roma and BATE Borisov.

AS Roma need to better or equal Bayer Leverkusen’s result (they host Barcelona, poor souls) because they are level on points but AS Roma hold the tiebreaker advantage. The bookmakers have gone huge on the giallorossi and I think maybe they got a bit carried away. BATE Borisov aren’t a great side and their season ended 11 days ago. But they’re no pushovers either. In fact, they actually beat AS Roma in Belarus. AS Roma haven’t won in a month, Rudy Garcia is under pressure, folks are murmuring. This is one of those games where there’s no value in backing the most likely outcome. Roll the dice a little: go for BATE Borisov to win or draw at 3.1 which is good value. Or, go for a draw/BATE halftime/fulltime result, which is at 17. Remember too, that if Barcelona are beating up Bayer Leverkusen it’s entirely possible that AS Roma will take their foot off the gas.
