Aryna Sabalenka looking to maintain her form in the semis

In the most successful Grand Slam participation of her career, Aryna Sabalenka finds herself in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. The Belarussian has improved her game immensely in the past year as she won two WTA Tour titles in Abu Dhabi and Madrid beating Ashleigh Barty in the final in Madrid. The most improved aspect of Sabalenka’s game is her temper and composure keeping herself calm and in control of her emotions during the match.

Despite having a 2-2 win/loss record before Wimbledon on grass, the number four seed excelled on the grass of The All England Club and rallied to win four matches in a row while brushing aside some of the players who are in great form on the Tour like Rybakina and Jabeur. Sabalenka showed that she is capable of withstanding all the pressures put upon her by her opponents and will be keen to maintain her form in the semis.

Sabalenka Key Stats

  • Sabalenka has played 21 games per match in Wimbledon
  • The number of double faults per match by Sabalenka is 4.4
  • 6.8 is the average number of aces per match by Sabalenka

Karolina Pliskova’s serve looks solid as a rock

It hasn’t been a good year for Karolina Pliskova. The Czech suffered to find her form in the past 12 months and passed the quarter-final round just once in that period in Rome this year. Pliskova lost both of her first-round matches in the warm-up tournaments for Wimbledon in Berlin and Eastbourne, entering the year’s third Grand Slam on the back of the worst possible run of results.

It was a different story in Wimbledon though as the world number 13 transformed into an unbeatable player. Pliskova breezed through her matches with relative ease without dropping a single set in five matches. Her main strength has been her serve in which she won 81% of the points behind it and was broken just three times in the whole tournament.

Pliskova Key Stats

  • Pliskova has played 18 games per match in Wimbledon
  • The number of aces per match by Pliskova is eight
  • 5.2 is the average number of double faults by Pliskova

Aryna Sabalenka vs Karolina Pliskova Prediction

Sabalenka has won the two H2H meetings between these two players one of them being on the grasscourt of Eastbourne back in 2018. Both players have reached the semi-final after displaying some great tennis and are worthy of appearing in this round.

The bookies are favoring Sabalenka for the win with odds of 1.50. It’s a tough bet to call as both players are very similar in their stats and very little separates them. Pliskova will rely on her serve and despite the fact that she is serving lots of aces, she is also committing a lot of double faults.

That’s the market we’d like to bet on. Vbet is paying a generous 1.80 for under 10.5 double faults in the match. We think that is attainable if we look at their stats the sum of their double faults per game is 9.6.

The Same goes with the Aces market. 1.97 odds for under 12.5 aces for a women’s match seems very attractive!
