Neither of these teams have a realistic shot at the Premier League title this season but will both be hoping to finish in the top four.

Arsenal are on a terrible run at the moment and are arguably having their worst spell during Arsene Wenger’s 20 or so years in charge of the club. They are currently 6th and six points off the top four after a run of four losses in their last five Premier League games. However, they do have two games in hand over Liverpool in 4th so could claw back if they find some form.

Everybody knows that the Gunners have a squad which is very final-third heavy with little depth or quality in defence. This is why they have conceded a poor 34 goals in 27 league games and have kept just one clean sheet in their last six Premier League matches. However, they are of course very good going forward and they are amoung the division’s top scorers with 56 goals whilst they have also registered on the score-sheet in every match in all competitions since 30th November 2016.

Wenger’s men may have lost half of their last four games at home in all competitions, however, it must also be said that they have won six of their last seven Premier League matches at the Emirates Stadium. Although, their points haul of 29 from 13 matches at home is only the fifth-best in the league.

Manchester City could only manage a draw in their last match against Liverpool which means they have won just once in their last four in all competitions whilst they have also not tasted victory in either of their last two Premier League games. Having said that, they are third in the table and five points ahead of city rivals Manchester United in 5th so they should find themselves in the top four come the end of the season.

Much like Arsenal, City are more focused on the attacking side of their team than the defensive side. They have scored an impressive 54 goals in 28 games over the course of the season but it must also be mentioned that they have only found the back of the net once in each of their last two games. It is quite easy to criticise the City defence, however, it must be said that they have actually been relatively solid recently with three consecutive clean sheets back in early March. Although, it must also be noted that, against the big teams, the Citizens struggle at the back and they have not kept a clean sheets against what you would call ‘big teams’ in any competition so far this campaign.

Interestingly, Pep Guardiola’s men have been better away than they have at home and their recent loss away at Monaco was their first defeat, and the first time they had conceded a goal in six matches, outside the Etihad Stadium in all competitions.

This is a must-win for Arsenal and I think that could play into City’s hands given their away form. Having said that, it is always hard to call a game between top sides like this. I think ‘Both Teams to Score in Second Half’ is a great bet at 33/20. This bet would’ve returned a winner in each of City’s last two games, as well as in their last two against the top teams.
