Having turned things around last Thursday, Bilbao approach the second-leg of this tie with the lead, although it’s a very slender one. With two away-goals in the bag, APOEL will feel that they’ve got every chance of advancing to the next round and rightly so. This is one fixture on Thursday night where it’s still very much game on.

When the pair met last week, action in front of goal was the order of the day and there’s no reason why both fans and punters alike will see anything different in this match. Considering the way the first-leg panned out, a price of 7/5 on ‘Over 2.5 Goals & Both Teams to Score’ is certainly worth snapping up.

Bilbao might have the lead in this tie, but it’s hardly a commanding one, and, what with the way the Basque club have been defending in recent weeks, you’d fancy that they might be hard pushed to see this one out. With this in mind, the visitors are likely to still be in the hunt for goals, while the hosts certainly will be. After all, if the Cypriots get the first goal then, thanks to their precious two away goals, they’ll be in an excellent position.

High-scoring matches have been commonplace for both of these two clubs in recent weeks. ‘Over 2.5 Goals’ has landed in both four of the last five APOEL matches and four of the last five Bilbao matches. When they met last week, both showcased their ability to get forward and cause the other numerous problems; however, neither coped well at the back.

With the way this tie is set up after the opening-leg, it is the hosts who initially have to force the issue but, given the fact they found plenty of joy against this opposition away from home, they probably won’t mind that too much. The fact that Bilbao have been dreadful on the road of late – lost four of their last five away from home, conceding nine goals in the process – will also encourage Thomas Christiansen’s men.

Although they have been struggling from a defensive point of view lately, Bilbao proved that they’re certainly capable of scoring goals against a side like APOEL last week and will fancy their chances of coming here and doing some damage of their own.

Given how the first-leg panned out, coupled with the fact that both of two seemingly favour an attacking style, this tie is far from over and another goal-filled encounter is expected.
