World number six Tsitsipas showed great determination to win in his quarter-final match against Daniil Medvedev. The Greek player was in top form and despite all expectations for the match to go the distance, finished it in straight sets against a player with who he had a 6-1 win/loss record.

Tsitsipas is having the best season of his career as he is leading the ATP race to the Turin rankings. He has been one of the most consistent players in 2021 and is on a nine-match winning streak. He won the title in Lyon and reached the final in Barcelona losing narrowly to Nadal in the final.

Looking at his quarter-final match against Medvedev, Tsitsipas’ stats were excellent hitting 33 winners and keeping his unforced errors to 24. He needs to improve his service which was just 65% but won a good 73% of the points behind it.
