Having set off at a frantic pace in the first-leg – took the lead after less than a minute – Copenhagen proved that they’re no mugs and, despite conceding shortly after going in front, take a 2-1 lead with them to Amsterdam. However, with an away-goal in the bag, Ajax certainly won’t feel too downbeat and are very much still in this tie.

What this pair showed in the first-leg was something of a rather unsurprising appetite to get forward. Not only did they get forward, but both proved themselves to be capable of hurting each other. In what was a fairly open encounter, both had their share of chances and much of the same is fancied in this second-leg. Just as they did in the first-leg, both teams are expected to get on the score-sheet here.

With the way the first-leg has this one set up – Ajax needing at least one goal – the hosts know that they have to force the issue and make something happen. In doing so, quite frankly, the Dutch outfit are expected to find the net. Having said this, the visitors will also fancy their chances of securing an away-goal, particularly on the counter.

Scoring goals in front of a home crowd is certainly something that is familiar to this Ajax side. Not only have the Dutch outfit found the net in 100% of their home matches in the Eredivisie this season, but they also scored at least once on all three occasions at the Amsterdam Arena when playing in the group stages of this competition. Such scoring form bodes well, and it would be something of a surprise if they weren’t able to maintain their 100% record (this season).

The hosts may be heavy favourites ahead of this second-leg, but Copenhagen, albeit on their own patch, were highly competitive last Thursday and really shouldn’t be discounted here. What’s more, the lead that the Danish side have should allow them to utilise the counter – a tactic that could quite easily bear fruit with the pacey Rasmus Falk Jensen out wide.

Much like Ajax often get among the goals on their own patch, the visitors are no strangers to finding the net on the road. Ståle Solbakken’s men have scored in all but one of their 12 away matches in the Danish Superligaen this season, and notched twice away at Ludogorets in the previous round. They also found the net in two of their three away matches in the group stages of the Champions League before dropping into this competition.

All things considered, there’s plenty to like about both of these sides, so much so that both are expected to register at least once on the score-sheet in this second-leg.
