When you first look at this pairing you immediately recall their dramatic match at Wimbledon. The Croat had match points in that tie but slipped and injured herself trying to reach a Radwanska shot. She eventually lost the match 7:9 and left the court in tears. However, soon afterwards she was able to recover and is now in the fourth round of the US Open which is an excellent result for her.

The draw has been kind to both girls apart from the fact Konjuh had Kiki Bertens in the first round. Whilst the match was long, the Croat managed to come through in the end.

I think Konjuh will be in a very serious mood for this match – using that match at Wimbledon as motivation to get the victory here, undoubtedly she will now want to prove she has what it takes to beat Radwanska. The Croat has a very powerful shot as well as a great serve which can achieve good results on fast courts.

We have known about her for a long time yet she is still only 18 years old. Additionally, Radwanska does not like playing against such powerful opponents and the US Open hasn’t exactly been the best venue for her.

One thing Radwanska does have in her favour is a resolute defence. Konjuh’s attacking power and Radwanska’s defence points to one thing here – plenty of games. We could be in for a long match and thus the bet to go for is ‘Over 19.5 Games’.
