Just a few months ago Wycombe were being touted as serious play-off contenders in League Two, but recently things have gone awry for Ainsworth and his men and they’re now without a win in six matches. An away match against a team who’ve really perked up of late in Accrington, isn’t exactly what the doctor ordered and the visitors could continue to feel the pinch at the Crown Ground on Tuesday night.

With Wycombe very much out of form right now, this match represents a good opportunity for the hosts to continue their decent form. The bet that catches the eye ahead of this fixture is ‘Accrington to Score Over 1.5 Goals’. Given the regularity of which the hosts have been notching of late, a price of 17/10 seems to be an overestimation.

Since the turn of the year, Accrington have really got their act together and are now looking far more likely to remain in the football league than they had done for the majority of the first half of the campaign. The hosts have lost just two of their last ten fixtures and are unbeaten on their own patch in 2017. John Coleman’s side have started to score plenty of goals too. Especially at home, finding the net nine time in their five matches at the Crown Ground this year. On top of this, they’ve scored seven in their last three overall.

Considering Wycombe’s defensive plight, it’s certainly not hard to see them struggling here, particularly with Accrington acquitting themselves much better in the final third of late. Ainsworth’s side were previously considered one of toughest to beat in the entire division, but that reputation has gone out of the window with Wycombe losing each of their last six in the league, conceding no less than 12 goals in the process.

With the visiting team’s recent defensive record looking the way it does – conceded at least twice in four of their last five on the road and in five of their last six overall – Accrington really ought to fancy their chances here.

The hosts do concede a few goals themselves so backing them to win this match probably isn’t the wisest move, but, given their exploits in front of goal in recent weeks, it appears as though they’re a tad overpriced to bag a couple of goals and, therefore, that’s the route to go down.
