Velasquez denied bail again

Ex UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez will remain in prison after Judge Shelina Brown denied him bail for the second time during his trial for attempted murder. It is reported by MMA Fighting.

Velasquez appeared in court on Monday, along with his lawyer Mark Geragos, who argued that his client was willing to accept a substantial $1 million bail, as well as wearing an electronic bracelet and staying permanently at his residence. Geragos also claimed that Velasquez might even have a person next to him who would constantly monitor his behaviour if he went free.

Geragos has argued that Velasquez may be suffering from a traumatic brain injury, as well as possible CTE (Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy), which is brain degeneration caused by repetitive head injuries.

While these fortunes could be used as a defence at trial, Judge Brown refused to see them as a change in Velasquez’s current circumstances before ordering him to return to prison to await trial.

Velazquez was arrested on February 28 and charged with attempted murder. Kane faces a prison term of 20 years to life in prison if found guilty.

We will remind, that Velazquez shot at a man who was recently accused of molesting his four-year-old son. Kane missed, and the bullet hit the defendant’s stepfather.

It is noteworthy that the court released bail, accused of molesting the son of Velasquez.
