Russian promoter Vladimir Khryunov suspects Klitschko-Fury fight to be fixed

“There were a lot of bets on Fury to win with odds near 1.16*, this is what my English colleague informed me before the fight. All the bookmakers considered that quite strange. I’m beginning to think that Klitschko had placed a bet on his own defeat. I think he had an arrangement with the bookmakers. Klitschko Jr is a businessman and his team are always looking to make a profit. We all know that it was one of the last Wladimir Klitschko’s fights. I think that he has sold the game out. Now he has the option of a rematch which will make a lot of money.  This is not only my opinion. And technically: Wladimir Klitschko made less than 60 punches during the fight. He didn’t try to move into adventurous positions in the ring. Fundamentally he had a sparring match with defense but with no attack”, – that’s what Vladimir Khryunov has told in his interview to the Izvestia.

*this is likely to be a mistake with an odd: there were no such a bottom odds (1.16) even on Klitschko’s win. William Hill have suggested to bet on Fury’s win with the odd 4.50.

In later rounds when Klitschko was apparently losing, the bookmakers still considered him the favourite. After the eight out of the twelve rounds you could bet on Fury’s win with the odds 2.93.
