Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo became the world’s top league scorer in the 21st century, according to the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS).

Goals scored from 2001 to 2020 were taken into account. The Portuguese scored 462 goals.

Barcelona striker Lionel Messi is second with 451 goals. The third is Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who scored 13 goals in the 20th century and another 379 in the 21st century.

Atlético striker Luis Suarez (332) is fourth, while Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski (285) is seventh.
