Rafael Leao: Manchester United sent scouts to watch £60m-rated AC Milan forward
Manchester United reportedly sent scouts to watch Rafael Leao in action during AC Milan’s Champions League matches against Chelsea, according to reports.
Man United were keen on signing a centre-forward over the summer amid concerns that Cristiano Ronaldo was interested in leaving the club for the Champions League team.
United eventually cooled their pursuit of a striker after they successfully stopped Ronaldo from leaving the club last transfer window.
There are suggestions that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner could leave the club next year as his desire to play for the ongoing Champions League remains unchanged.
And should that be the case, Manchester United are going to renew their search for a forward in January and according to Sunday Mirror, AC Milan forward Rafael Leao is on United’s transfer radar and the Red Devils sent their scouts to watch him in action during Milan’s back-to-back UCL matches this month.

The same report holds that Leao, who is rated at £60million, is refusing to extend his contract with the Serie A club despite being made aware that a five-year deal worth in excess of £100,000-a-week is being put on the table.
Erik ten Hag is a huge admirer of the Portuguese international, who has scored four goals and made four assists in eight Serie A matches this season so far.
Leao has made four appearances in the Champions League this season but doesn’t have a goal to show yet, having gone blank in both games against the Blues.
