Liverpool and Manchester United’s Defensive Target Drops Massive Hint on Potential Summer Move.

Ajax defender Jurrien Timber has expressed his openness to a potential move to either Manchester United or Liverpool during the upcoming summer transfer window.

Jurrien Timber, the talented defender from Ajax, has recently hinted at a potential switch to either Manchester United or Liverpool during the upcoming summer transfer window. This revelation comes as Ajax has reportedly set their asking price for the highly sought-after Netherlands international.

Over the past three seasons, Timber has emerged as one of the cornerstones of Ajax’s defensive line, showcasing exceptional skills and consistency. His performances have not gone unnoticed by two English heavyweights, Manchester United and Liverpool, who have been closely monitoring the 21-year-old ahead of the transfer window.

Notably, Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has previously worked with Timber during his time at Ajax and is keen on reuniting with the promising defender at Old Trafford. However, competition is expected from Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp, who is also eager to bolster his defensive options this summer.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport, Timber acknowledged the possibility of leaving Ajax in the coming months and shed some light on the factors that will influence his decision.

“It’s a situation similar to last season,” said Timber. “If I decide to leave, it needs to be the right fit for me. Playing style, playing time, and the opportunity to compete for trophies are all important aspects. As for my preferred country to play in, I can’t say for certain.”

Drawing from his previous experience, Timber added,

“That’s why I’m adopting a similar approach as last season. There’s a chance of leaving Ajax; it’s a possibility. However, I also feel comfortable here. I’m still young, and everything suits me at the moment. I’ll be observing quietly.”

While Ajax has indicated their willingness to entertain offers for Timber, reports suggest that the Dutch club values the defender at approximately £44 million.
