Antonio Conte was obviously pleased with Tottenham’s fighting spirit as Spurs came from behind to seal a late win over Leeds United.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte was really pleased by his side’s resilience against Leeds United, insisted that his side never gives up.

Spurs came back from behind three times to stage a tight but an entertaining 4-3 win over relentless Leeds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

Summerville opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a brilliant finish but Harry Kane pulled level fifteen minutes later following a close-range goal.

Rodrigo restored Leeds United’s lead in the 43rd minute and Leeds were able to defend their tight lead for the remainder of the first half.

Spurs went all out after the interval and were rewarded with an equaliser in the 51st minute following a decent goal from Ben Davies. Tottenham’s second response didn’t put off the Whites as the Yorkshire side restored their command halfway through the second half.

Antonio Conte‘s men were resilience and dug in and got yet another equaliser five minutes later, thanks to a decent finish from Rodrigo Bentancur.

The midfielder would go on and score what would be the match-winning goal two minutes later and what many described as a thriller ended with Spurs taking all the points.

Conte was pleased with his side’s resilience and told the press after the final whistle: “It was a big, big effort. It was the last game… to play 13 games in a row in 43 days was really, really tough. We lost a lot of energy, not just physical energy, but also mental energy.

“The players, myself, my staff, preparing for games every two or three days, no training session to try to improve the tactical aspect, and don’t forget also what happened in these 43 days and the emotional aspect was really tough with (the sad passing of) Gian Piero.

“This situation affected us a lot, many players, my staff. For this reason, to be qualified first in our group in the Champions League and to stay in a good position in the table, after this part of the season, it means, first of all, we made a big, big effort and secondly, we’re working very well, me, the staff and especially the players are showing to be really professional to face this period.”

Antonio Conte added: “I’m really happy because to finish with a win, and, I repeat, qualification first in our group in the Champions League, to stay in the top four in the Premier League, that is very difficult… I’m very happy I can celebrate with my wife, with my daughter, because this week my daughter celebrated 15 years old, we stay together, to spend a bit of time together. Family is important.”
