Chelsea show interest in signing Inter Milan and Italian defender Alessandro Bastoni.

Premier League giants Chelsea are reportedly eyeing a move for Inter Milan’s young and talented centre-back Alessandro Bastoni. This comes after former Blues boss Antonio Conte, who is now in charge of Tottenham Hotspur, allegedly urged the North London club to pursue the 23-year-old Italian defender.

As per a report from respected Italian outlet Gazetta dello Sport , Chelsea have expressed interest in signing Bastoni, who has become a regular for both his club and country. The player was signed by Inter from Atalanta’s academy as an 18-year-old for a fee of £27.2m and has since made great strides in his career.

Bastoni has been tasked with filling the void left by the experienced Giorgio Chiellini in the Italian national team, which he has done admirably. He was part of the squad that won the European Championships in 2021, although he only made one appearance during the tournament.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea can lure the talented defender to Stamford Bridge, but given his impressive performances for Inter and Italy, it is no surprise that he has caught the attention of one of England’s biggest clubs.
