This Animated Fish Shows You Why Bettas Don't Want to Be Your Decorations
Stores like Petco frequently market betta fish as decorative "starter pets," and people who buy them often have no idea how sensitive and complex they are. Typically, they're kept in tanks or bowls that are too small, with little to no enrichment and that's not a life. This animated betta reminds us that fish have their own desires and deserve to live in freedom. Never buy betta fish!

Buying any animal from a pet store supports cruel industries that treat living beings like commodities. Bettas (and all animals) deserve better.
Simply apply the Golden Rule and it answers how Betta fish feel about being held captive and forced to swim in circles.
Betta fish should never be kept in small, craped tanks. They, like all fish, deserve the open waters of freedom and the sea.
