Milwaukee Film announces full lineup of Cream City Cinema program
The annual program features local filmmakers and is comprised of four shorts programs and six feature films for 2017.
The 2017 Milwaukee Film Festival announced the full lineup for Cream City Cinema. The Cream City Cinema program is in its ninth year, and showcases the best new work from Milwaukee-based filmmakers and awards three juried cash prizes totaling $12,500.
This year’s program is comprised of four shorts programs and six feature films, including the documentary Roller Life profiling Milwaukee’s own Brewcity Bruisers; the coming-of-age period piece Scott Road; and the return of the popular The Milwaukee Music Video Show, featuring music videos for notable local artists WebsterX, The Fatty Acids, and IshDARR.
The 2017 Milwaukee Film Festival will take place at the Landmark Oriental Theatre, Landmark Downer Theatre, Fox-Bay Cinema Grill, Times Cinema, and Avalon Theater from Sept. 28 to Oct. 12. Festival passes and ticket 6-Packs are available at mkefilm.org/tickets.
The films in the 2017 Cream City Cinema program include Chasing Bubbles, directed by Topher Cochrane and Alex Rust; Civic Art: Four Stories From South Los Angeles, directed by Mark Escribano; Life of the Party, directed by Rubin Whitmore II; Manlife, directed by Ryan Sarnowski; The Milwaukee Music Video Show (shorts – music videos); The Milwaukee Show I (shorts); The Milwaukee Show II (shorts); The Milwaukee Youth Show (shorts); Roller Life, directed by Michael Brown; and Scott Road, directed by William Tang.
