Diaz v McGregor will be the largest betting fight in UFC history
The official betting partner of the fight, Unibet, expects this to be the largest in terms of bets made and amount bet in the history of UFC.
According to SBC News, the management of the UFC expects the fight between Diaz and McGregor to break pay-per-view records as an unprecedented amount of people are set to purchase the broadcast of the live coverage.
Bookmaker Unibet has also stated that this UFC fight will probably be the largest event in history to be sponsored by them.
“We expect this to be our highest turnover UFC event ever, McGregor’s last two fights currently sit first and second in terms of turnover and number of bets and from the large number of bets we have taken already and the huge hype around the match-up this trend looks set to continue.” stated Unibet representative William Vickery.
According to the bookmaker, the favourite for this fight is Conor McGregor. A bet on The Notorious to win is valued at 77/100 whilst his rival Diaz is priced at 11/10.
The chances of McGregor to win by knockout, technical knockout or disqualification are rated at 6/5 whilst Diaz is down at 11/2 for the same bet.
Diaz to win via a submission hold is rated at 9/4 whilst McGregor to win via this method is 14/1.
The first fight between these two was won via a Diaz submission. This was the first time that McGregor lost a UFC fight.
