After being linked with the vacant England managers role, especially in the betting, Claudio Ranieri has stated that he doesn’t have a great relationship with the bookies.

Sam Allardyce was sacked as England manager after a corruption scandal. Claudio Ranieri appeared on the list of applicants for the vacancy, the chances of which are rated by the bookmakers. The manager of English champions Leicester City, who is a specialist in response, says he does not have a good relationship with the bookmakers.

AFP journalist Tom Williams wrote on his Twitter account that when Ranieri was told that he was on the bookmakers’ list of candidates to become the next England boss he said:

“The bookmakers? You know I have not a good relationship with the bookmakers!”

Note that the conversation between the journalists and Ranieri took place the day after Leicester had won their second consecutive Champions League match by beating Porto 1-0.

According to bookmaker William Hill, the chances of Ranieri replacing Allardyce as head coach of the England national team are 14/1. The favourite is Gareth Southgate at odds of 11/10.

At a press conference in mid-August, Ranieri said that it was more likely that aliens would land in London than his club defend their title and suggested the bookmakers price the chances of Leicester winning the championship at 6000/1.

Before the start of last season bookmakers gave the Foxes a 5000/1 chance of winning the title.
